How I Choose Books:
The books I read are selected a number of different ways: sometimes through school reading lists or award lists; sometimes other people’s reading lists; or sometimes just because the cover strikes my fancy as I browse bookshelves.
If there is a book you would like me to review, please let me know through the contact page. Just please remember that I will publish my review, and it will be my honest review.
How Often I Read and Review:
I read several books a week and try to review at least 3 books a week. It is my goal to review all of the youth books I read or have read since starting this venture. I may throw an adult book review in here or there if I find something that strikes a cord with me, for better or worse.
You may also notice that my suggested to-read lists change. I will hopefully discover some new favorites to recommend, resulting in an updated list.
Ratings:
When I rate a book, I take into consideration various things: awards, recognition, publishing stats, suggested age level and reading level. In the end though, it comes down to my personal level of enjoyment and whether I would be comfortable recommending this to someone close to me.
I promise to be honest even when that means a negative review. I would like to believe there are only good books out there but that simply isn’t true, and even if it was, its a simple fact that not every book is for every person. I would also like to believe that all popular books are good but that also just isn’t the case.
